BioWare Reveal 90 Day Content Road Map For Anthem

Despite all of the negative attention it’s been getting, and despite all of its current shortcomings, Anthem still has the potential to be a really great game.

BioWare have revealed a content road map that covers the first 90 days after Anthem’s launch. The road map details some much needed bug fixes and quality of life improvements as well as a steady drip of endgame content for players left hungry after the story campaign. That said, much of the new content being introduced appears to be minor, with nothing big for players to sink their teeth into until the launch of The Cataclysm in May 2019.

Making a game like Anthem was always going to be a daunting undertaking, and it’s almost impossible to get the formula right first time. Destiny and its sequel both had more than their fair share of growing pains, but they also serve as proof of what can be achieved when players and devs are willing to stick it out and come together to fix a game’s issues.

BioWare’s Head of Live Services Chad Robertson acknowledged Anthem’s lacklustre debut, but promised that the game’s rocky start wouldn’t hold it back going forward.

“We understand that we have lots of work ahead of us to continue to improve the game. Our most recent patch – the one you are playing now — reflects your feedback. Beyond that, we have a growing list of improvements we’re evaluating for the future. You’ll start seeing the next of those this coming week.”

“I look at today from two perspectives. As a gamer, I’m excited by what we’ve created with Anthem and the promise it carries for a long future behind the game’s lush world, immersive lore, rich characters, and core gameplay. As a developer, I know we’ve worked hard to strike a balance of engaging BioWare story combined with fun action gameplay and multiplayer progression; I also know how much more we want to bring to the game.”

Below is the framework for Anthem’s 90 day content road map, which covers all updates included in Act 1 of the game’s calendar, known as Echoes of Reality. All points labelled ‘Cortex Locked’ are items of content that have been redacted by BioWare, who obviously don’t want to reveal everything they’ve got up their sleeve just yet.
