PlayStation Players Can Now Change Their PSN ID

As promised in an official statement last year, Sony are finally letting PlayStation owners change their PSN ID.

The name change feature went live today in North America and will be rolled out to the UK and Europe tomorrow.

The first change is free for all PSN users, but each name change after that will cost £7.99 – or £3.99 if you’re a PS Plus subscriber. Sony have said that there is no limit the number of times a user can change their PSN ID, however only PS4 games originally published after 1st April 2018 are guaranteed to support the changes. Some games made before that date may still accept the change but PS3 and Vita titles definitely won’t.

It’s also worth mentioning that users who change their PSN ID can revert back to their old ID at any time. This is a free service accessible through PlayStation Support and there’s no limit to the number of times you can revert as Sony will reserve your original alias for you.
