Doom Eternal is being delayed. In a recent Twitter post, developers id Software announced that the game, originally set for release this November, would be pushed back until March 20th 2020.
In the statement given, id said that the delay was to “make sure we’re delivering the best experience – for Doom Eternal to live up to our standards of speed and polish.”
id also confirmed that Doom Eternal’s Invasion Mode, which allows a player to enter another player’s game as a playable demon, would not be shipped with the game, but will arrive later as part of a free update.
Doom Eternal will now launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on March 20th 2020, with the Nintendo Switch version of the game set to be released shortly after. Doom 64 is available on all platforms at launch as a preorder bonus.
