Following the RE3 Remake’s huge reveal during Sony’s latest State of Play, Capcom released a new developer diary that gives us a better idea of what the game will actually be like to play.
Anyone who played the Resident Evil 2 Remake will be pretty familiar with gameplay mechanics in Resident Evil 3. The segment of gameplay footage shown in the developer diary also confirms the over-the-shoulder camera position, just like in RE2.
However one major difference that was highlighted is the increased level of action. In RE3 the enemies are more numerous, unrelenting, so we can expect a heavier emphasis on combat. And hopefully less tightly-controlled resources to match. In short: less sneaky sneaky, more pew pew.
Usually when the word “action” is used by devs working on a survival horror game, it causes me to break out in a cold sweat. But Capcom have already made that mistake with the Resident Evil franchise and hopefully learnt their lesson.
Resident Evil 3 Remake – and the included Resident Evil Resistance multiplayer game – launch on April 3rd 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
